Orthodontic problems can be treated at any age. However, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends children receive an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7.
Children will benefit from an early evaluation by having their growth and development monitored by Dr. Schuppert. This will reduce treatment time and cost, as well as prevent more serious oral health problems.
Early intervention, with removable retainers or fixed expanders and even some early partial braces can correct developing problems including: crowding, excessive overjet, and underbites; that will decrease the odds of permanent teeth needing to be extracted and even help reduce the risk of fractures to the teeth in a growing child.
